Thanks to Netflix streaming my wife and I recently discovered the quirky town of Twin Peaks. I’ve always admired David Lynch’s work, and this series really stuck with me well after watching it. There were so many great characters and imagery in Twin Peaks that I could create twenty more tribute pieces, therefore my apologies if I left out some of your own favorite characters. Maybe I’ll make another one in the future.

New unpublished work that pays homage to the great video game, Mega Man 2.

This is a logo design I recently created for a local hockey team seeking to freshen up their look. Since sports logos are a strong representation of a team’s identity and history– I didn’t want to lose this with a complete overhaul of the mark, therefore I retained most of the colors of the original logo (pictured left). I also zoomed in on the Cobra, made it more menacing and used sharper angles and crisp line-work as opposed to the loose, flowing nature of the original logo.

So Santa was awesome to me this year, and hooked me up with a Wacom Bamboo. I’ve always wanted to delve into the world of digital drawing so I was pretty excited. My first sketches were pretty horrible, but after a while I felt comfortable enough to challenge myself and take a stab at something with a little more depth and complexity.

I chose to create some fan art inspired by the character Starkiller from the video game Star Wars, Force Unleashed Two. The drawing is 100% digital and I learned a lot from creating it. I won’t be jumping into doing Panda Force all on the computer anytime soon, but I do plan on trying to expand my skill sets with the Wacom by creating some more standalone pieces very soon.

In other news, Panda Force will hit the 50 page mark on February 17! Never imagined I’d come along this far with it, but it’s been a fun ride. If you haven’t read any of it, drop by the site and check out what you’ve been missing. — S.

This weekend I was at a friend’s house for a Star Wars marathon– therefore, what a better time to get some drawing in?

I hadn’t done a Star Wars related drawing since the 90′s, so this was a lot of fun. I usually create a specific palette for each piece I work on, but this time around I shot from the hip. For a quick little tribute, I’m happy with it.
